Tampere Supercross Postponed for a Second Time – Event Rescheduled to 2022
The organizers of Tampere Supercross & Offroad Expo have announced that the event will once again be postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Originally scheduled to take place this autumn, Finland’s premier indoor Supercross event will now return in November 2022.
The decision was made today by the event organization after carefully evaluating the current public health restrictions and the uncertainty surrounding large-scale indoor events.
“The current gathering restrictions apply to indoor events with more than ten people. We simply cannot expect those limits to increase from ten people to the approximately 10,000 visitors our event attracts in less than two months,” said Jarkko Nieminen, Event Producer and Promoter of Tampere Supercross.
According to Nieminen, it would also be impossible to implement social distancing requirements of one to two meters at an indoor event such as Tampere Supercross, where spectators traditionally fill the grandstands and exhibition halls throughout the weekend.
Another important factor behind the early decision was the impact on exhibitors, sponsors and partners.
“If we waited until October and then had to cancel, it would create significant additional work and unnecessary costs for our exhibitors and partners.”
The organizers also cited uncertainty regarding the ability of international riders and race teams to travel to Finland and compete without restrictions.
“It’s better to make the decision now than continue waiting in uncertainty. The current situation has already caused some exhibitors and sponsors to hesitate about participating.”

All tickets purchased for this year’s event will remain valid for the 2022 Tampere Supercross & Offroad Expo.
Ticket holders are encouraged to monitor the official event website and their email inboxes. The official ticketing provider will contact customers shortly with detailed instructions regarding ticket transfers and refund options for those unable to attend the new event dates.
Looking Ahead
Despite the postponement, the Tampere Supercross organization remains committed to the future of the event and hopes exhibitors, suppliers and commercial partners will continue their support as preparations begin for 2022.
Planning for the next edition of Tampere Supercross will begin during the winter of 2021.
