Tampere Supercross 2020 Aims to Go Ahead as Planned
Organizers of Tampere Supercross, Finland’s premier indoor motocross event and the traditional finale of the domestic motocross season, remain committed to staging the event as scheduled this November.
Like sporting events around the world, Tampere Supercross has been closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Organizers are continuing preparations for the ninth edition of the event, which is scheduled for November 6–7, 2020, provided it receives approval from the Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI) and no government restrictions or public health regulations related to the coronavirus pandemic prevent the event from taking place.
Over the years, Tampere Supercross has become one of Finland’s most popular motocross events, attracting thousands of spectators annually to the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre. Saturday’s program has sold out on multiple occasions, with fans filling the arena to experience world-class indoor Supercross racing.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, the organizing team has continued working hard behind the scenes to deliver another successful edition of the event.
Should it prove impossible to hold Tampere Supercross on its planned November dates, organizers will first seek an alternative date during the coming winter. If that is not feasible, the event will be postponed until late 2021.
