Tampere Supercross Launches the SX2 Challenge Qualifying Series

Twelve Finnish MX2 riders will earn the opportunity to compete at Tampere Supercross, where they will battle for a €1,200 prize fund, race in front of thousands of spectators, and showcase themselves and their sponsors on one of Finland’s biggest motorsport stages. This year, every rider has the chance to earn their place on the starting gate.

The SX2 class returns to Tampere Supercross in 2023, featuring 12 Finnish riders competing for a total prize fund of €1,200. Beyond the prize money, the event offers something even more valuable: the opportunity to race in front of thousands of fans in an arena environment unlike anything else available in Finland.

The event also provides riders with exceptional exposure for their personal sponsors and partners. Competing in front of a large audience, including business leaders and potential future supporters, can open doors to valuable new partnerships.

How to qualify

This year, Tampere Supercross introduces the Tampere Supercross SX2 Challenge, a dedicated qualifying series that will determine 10 of the 12 available starting positions.

The qualifying series consists of the first four rounds of the Finnish MX2 Motocross Championship. Following the Championship events in Kaanaa, Siilinjärvi and the two-day finale in Tornio, the top ten riders in the SX2 Challenge standings will secure their place at Tampere Supercross and earn the right to compete for the prize money.

There is no entry fee for qualified riders, and the event organizers will also provide the race fuel used during the competition.

All riders competing in the first four Finnish MX2 Championship rounds will automatically be included in the Tampere Supercross SX2 Challenge standings. The standings will be updated after each event, and following the Tornio Championship weekend, the ten qualified riders will be officially announced.

The remaining two starting positions will be awarded as wild cards. Further details on the selection criteria for these entries will be announced at a later date.
