Former Motocross World Champion and AMA Supercross Champion Heading to Tampere Supercross
Tampere Supercross has secured the biggest rider signing in the event’s history.
The eighth edition of Finland’s premier international indoor Supercross event will feature Christophe Pourcel (France), the former FIM Motocross World Champion and two-time AMA Supercross East Coast Champion, when the gates drop at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on November 8–9, 2019.
The 31-year-old French star captured the FIM MX2 World Championship in 2006 before enjoying enormous success in the United States, where he claimed the prestigious AMA Supercross 250 East Championship titles in 2009 and 2010.
“Every year we strive to raise the level of Tampere Supercross, and bringing Christophe Pourcel to Finland is a huge step forward. Our Finnish riders now have a world-class champion to challenge, making victory even more meaningful,” says Jarkko Nieminen, Event Producer and Promoter of Tampere Supercross.
Kawasaki Factory-Level Equipment
Pourcel’s appearance in Finland has been made possible in cooperation with Sumeko Oy, the Finnish importer of Kawasaki motorcycles.
He will compete aboard the 2020 Kawasaki KX450, giving Finnish fans the opportunity to see one of the world’s premier Supercross riders in action on Kawasaki’s latest machinery.
